About CVPositive
CVPositive is run by Darren Emery, B.Sc (Hons), M.Sc — a Senior Project Instrument Engineer and Technical Authority with more than forty years in hazardous-area engineering, five of them offshore. Refineries, steelworks, gas terminals, fuel pipelines, chemical plants and power stations.
Why that matters
Most CV services are written by professional writers who have never set foot on a plant. They produce something that reads beautifully and means nothing to the person actually hiring. They soften the technical detail because they do not understand it, and the technical detail is the whole point.
I have sat on both sides of this. I have written the job specifications, sifted the applications, and interviewed the people. I know within thirty seconds whether a CV was written by someone who has done the work — and so does every hiring manager you are trying to reach.
What I actually do
I take a CV that undersells you and rebuild it so the evidence is visible: what you were responsible for, what you delivered, at what scale, to which standards. Certifications and competencies stated properly. Achievements quantified where they can be. Formatting that survives an applicant tracking system instead of being mangled by it.
No invented experience. No consultant vocabulary. No three pages of adjectives before anybody reaches your qualifications. If your career is strong, it should be legible in under a minute.
Who it is for
Engineers, Technicians, Instrument and Electrical staff, Process and Production Supervisors, Maintenance and Reliability people, COMAH and hazardous-area professionals, and anyone with a technical career that reads smaller on paper than it was in life.
If that is you, send it over: darren@tempestmedia.co.uk.
